East Central Communications Council (E-911) — Thu, Jul 16, 2026

The East Central Communications Council (E-911) met July 16 to discuss 911 dispatch operations serving Brookings and the county. A dispatcher recently completed academy training, bringing the department to full staffing. The council reviewed how a power outage in Volga increased call volume to the dispatch center and discussed a proposal for radio system consulting services. The next meeting is October 15 at the Brookings City & County Government Center, 520 3rd St., Room 300.
