The Week Ahead in Brookings: October 19–25, 2026
County and city boards meet this week to handle routine business and consider three new land plats for Brookings County. The Commission convenes Tuesday, October 20 at 8:30 AM to vote on resolutions approving plats for Werre Farm Addition, Berwald Addition, and Froiland Addition—land divisions that clear the way for development in their respective locations. The Commission will also consider rescinding a burn ban that was put in place August 18. The Brookings Public Arts Commission meets the same morning to discuss updates to the city website, review the application process for artists, and hear a status report on the skate park project. City Council members may attend the Hobo Day Parade on Saturday morning, but no official city business will be conducted. Read the full week in review →
