The Brookings County Commission will meet at 8:30 AM on September 1, 2026. Two employees will be recognized for 10 years of service: Sue Bjordal and Darren DeJong. The commission will hold public hearings and vote on the 2027 provisional budget and a supplemental budget. Other votes include resolutions on pay plan updates, annexation of territories by the City of Volga, purchase of a truck through a state bid process, and several agreements including an emergency management grant and community health services contract. The library director will provide an update on the summer reading program. The commission will also consider filling a temporary election worker position and a part-time correctional officer vacancy, and will discuss an appointment to the City of Brookings Human Rights Commission. Citizens may sign up before the meeting to request 5 minutes on a future agenda.
