A number of Brookings City Council members may turn up at the 2026 Brookings County 4-H Achievement Day BBQ on Thursday, August 6, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dacotah Bank Center, 824 32nd Avenue. City officials note that even if enough members attend to form a quorum, no official city business will be discussed or acted on — this is just a public notice required by state law. Residents attending the BBQ may simply see some familiar faces from the council in the crowd.
