The Brookings City Council approved a construction contract for the Main Fire Station on July 14, along with amendments to the architect's and owner's representative agreements. Council also approved rezoning Block 2 of Northern Plains Addition to a Planned Development District and signed off on an initial development plan for that block, plus updated subdivision design standards under Ordinance 26-017. On the licensing side, the council approved a 10-year liquor operating agreement for Mamacitas LLC and renewed wine agreements for the Dacotah Bank Center and Mosaic Wine Bar. The council also approved drainage fee abatements for three parcels in the RR Addition and the Dakota Service Property, and appointed Isabel Dalton to the Brookings Human Rights Commission. Mayor Niemeyer proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month.
